Wednesday Night "Chisel Groups"

Wednesday nights in the fall we have several things going on. We will start at 7:00pm at the church working through part of Exodus... a little of the Psalms... and also some out of the NT. After the Bible study we will be discussing the lesson in our Chisel Groups.

What are Chisel Groups? They are small groups named after the YouTube Video, "God's Chisel" by the Skit Guys.

Chisel Groups are all about allowing God get into our lives to chip away at those things that are getting in the way of your relationship with Him. It might get a little messy and challenging... but it will be good! We invite you to come and dive in!

Bible Quizzing 09-10

Teen Bible quizzing is for grades 6 thru 12.  This year we are studying 1st and 2nd Corinthians.  Bible quizzing is the best program available to motivate kids to study the Bible and memorize scripture.  We have a quiz tournament every month from September thru April.  This year we are planning to take a team to Ohio for the Nazarene nationals in June.  The four basics of Bible quizzing are Bible study, fellowship, competition and discipleship.  If you know a teen who is not involved with Bible quizzing encourage them to try it out.  Most teens find it actually helps them with their school work because they learn to be more disciplined and learn new study methods.  Our theme for this year “Do Everything In Love” 1 Corinthians 16:14.

Medical Release Forms

New medical release forms for 2009 with the Greg Hall listed as youth pastor. If you haven't filled one of these out yet... download it and bring it on in. We will put it on file and it will be good for the remainder of the year.

Fall Retreat Highlights

Fall Retreat's "Skit Night" was a bunch of fun this year at Camp Cascade. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

This year's fall retreat was at Camp Cascade. We talked about "Listening to God" and what that looks like in a person's life. Some of the things that can help us hear from God include 1. Clearing away any distractions that might be in our lives 2. Reading the Bible 3. Praying 4. Listening to other people who believe in God and are on the same path.

These videos were used during each of the sessions at camp and together they tell my story of trying to listen to God one day this fall.

Hey... we had a great game night on Wednesday. Lots of fun and four new people to boot! On Sunday mornings, for the next few weeks, we are going to look more at how to share our faith with our friends. What practical steps can you take to share your faith... and not be a geek in the process!

Did you know that a geek is really someone who bites the heads off of animals. Happy to say that we don't have any geeks in our group... as far as I know!

    See you soon...
