Praying for Ben Stauber...

This is a video that the HS students put together for their fearless leader, Ben Stauber. Ben is currently at OHSU in Portland, OR where he is recovering from an infection that halted his family's return from a cross-country trip. We are excited to see that God still answers prayers and we continue to pray for a speedy recovery and we want Ben's smiles and jokes to once again fill the HS room in the annex.

Gospel Journey Maui Series on Sunday Mornings

You are invited to join us for our Gospel Journey... Maui series on Sunday mornings this fall. The hangout starts around 9:00am and the video starts at 9:30am. Come learn about what other religions think about God... and find out more about what you believe.

Wednesday Night "Chisel Groups"

Wednesday nights in the fall we have several things going on. We will start at 7:00pm at the church working through part of Exodus... a little of the Psalms... and also some out of the NT. After the Bible study we will be discussing the lesson in our Chisel Groups.

What are Chisel Groups? They are small groups named after the YouTube Video, "God's Chisel" by the Skit Guys.

Chisel Groups are all about allowing God get into our lives to chip away at those things that are getting in the way of your relationship with Him. It might get a little messy and challenging... but it will be good! We invite you to come and dive in!

Bible Quizzing 09-10

Teen Bible quizzing is for grades 6 thru 12.  This year we are studying 1st and 2nd Corinthians.  Bible quizzing is the best program available to motivate kids to study the Bible and memorize scripture.  We have a quiz tournament every month from September thru April.  This year we are planning to take a team to Ohio for the Nazarene nationals in June.  The four basics of Bible quizzing are Bible study, fellowship, competition and discipleship.  If you know a teen who is not involved with Bible quizzing encourage them to try it out.  Most teens find it actually helps them with their school work because they learn to be more disciplined and learn new study methods.  Our theme for this year “Do Everything In Love” 1 Corinthians 16:14.

Fall Retreat Highlights

Fall Retreat's "Skit Night" was a bunch of fun this year at Camp Cascade. Thanks to everyone who contributed!

This year's fall retreat was at Camp Cascade. We talked about "Listening to God" and what that looks like in a person's life. Some of the things that can help us hear from God include 1. Clearing away any distractions that might be in our lives 2. Reading the Bible 3. Praying 4. Listening to other people who believe in God and are on the same path.

These videos were used during each of the sessions at camp and together they tell my story of trying to listen to God one day this fall.

Just wanted to report in on the great Fall Retreat we had from Sept. 25-27 @ Camp Cascade! We had about 50 people there for the weekend and it was an super duper time!!! We will post pictures and videos here as they are collected. We spent the weekend asking the question... what does it mean to listen to God?

Wednesday nights this fall are going to be in the annex from 7:00pm to 8:15pm. We will have a Bible study at the start and then split into "Chisel Groups" for the rest of the night. In the Chisel Groups we will 1. Answer a couple of questions about the Bible study 2. Talk about how our lives are going 3. Pray for one another.

On Sunday mornings we've started the "Gospel Journey, Maui" series. This is a video series that looks at what different religions believe about God. It is going to be a good time to figure out what you believe too. We start at 9:15am and everyone is welcome. Bring a friend!
