2008 Highlights

January:  Attended Worship Northwest with our Worship Team and introduced "Music University" (music classes for the learning musician), offering Learning to Read Music.

February:  Offered 2nd music class, Voice, with Ruthie LaFreniere as instructor.

March:  Sale of 9-foot Steinway and purchase of Roland KR 117 Digital Intelligent Piano, Good Friday service with three times the attendance of last year.

April:  NNU Crusader Choir, Northwesterners, and Jazz Combo were our guests, Sound Seminar with Ron Davis, Training and Dinner with Media Tech Crew.

May:  Offered 3rd Music University class, Learning the Roland KR 117. 

June:  Bluegrass Day (June 15) with our very own Bob Sutton, Roger Webster, Gary Woods, Zach Driscoll, and Julie Fields.  Special guests:  Gary Shottle and Ron Kilde.  On June 29, the Choir sang On Eagle's Wings as guests of the Englewood United Methodist Church.

 

Choir

The Choir leads the congregation in our traditional service at 9:15 am and ministers throughout the year through musicals and special events. Rehearsal: Wed. Nights at 6:45, Sun. Mornings at 8:45.

 

Handbell Choir -Voices in Bronze

Directed by Ruthie La Freniere, shares the love of Jesus through music in care centers, retirement homes, and in churches across the Willamette Valley. Rehearsals:  Mon. Nights at 7:00.m.

 

Orchestra

The Orchestra plays Sunday mornings for the traditional service and for special events throughout the year.  Rehearsal: Wed. Nights at 7:15, Sun. Mornings at 8:30. 

 

Worship Teams

Worship teams are developed through personal interview.  Participation in a team requires a high level of commitment and personal preparation.  Two teams assist in worship each Sunday for the two different services.  Rehearsals are held at various times through the week.

 

The Band

Comprised of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, and keyboard play Sunday mornings for the contemporary service and for special events throughout the year.  Personal interview required.  Rehearsals:  Thurs. Nights at 6:30.  

 

Celebrate Recovery Worship

Leads worship on Sunday evenings at 6:00.  This includes a vocal team and band.  Rehearsals are held Sunday afternoons.

 

Media Techs

Operate our graphics presentation in every service using Easy Worship and PowerPoint.  The technician assists in rehearsals .  Training provided.

 

Sound Techs

Operate our digital Yamaha soundboard in every service.  The technician assists in rehearsals.  Training provided.
